Chris DiPaola started in the radio field at the age of 15. He was inspired by the former WNBC in New York. He was hired by John Fuller, then owner of WJJF and later WPJB as a disk jockey and progressed to sales and management. Starting his own station in 1994, Chris aired with his creation WCTD, then 1580 AM, and later 1620 AM. Chris found time to give birth to "The Newport Sunflower" in 1994. Chris now owns AM Stereo 1230 WBLQ.

Steve Conti is the "onti" in DiPonti communications. Steve's broadcast career began back in 1987. He had the honor of meeting Mr. DiPaola back in 1991. "I remember our meeting like it was yesterday. We worked for competing stations, Chris at 102.7, me at the old WBLQ 99.3 and collided at a mutual client. I was thrilled to find out we had so much in common! Talking to Chris is like looking into a big rotund mirror! Today I am honored to be a business associate with Chris, as well as having him as one of my closest and dearest friends" says Conti. Steve generally works behind the scenes at WBLQ from assisting in the construction of the cozy WBLQ studios, to maintaining the signal and sound of the station at the Margin Street transmitter.

Ken Collins is a local broadcasting legend. Ken has been on the local airwaves doing sports play by play for decades and has even worked along side the likes of Chris Berman from ESPN. Ken handles all of WBLQ local sports broadcasts and can also be heard on the morning show with Chris every Friday, as well as on Sports Open Mic on Saturdays from 9 to 11 AM.

Joe Cugini is your Thursday morning show host on Stereo 1230 WBLQ. Joe has been with WBLQ for over a decade and is an iconic member of the local community. Joe severed as a member of the air force in the 50s and is a former president of the Westerly Community Credit Union and served as the head of the Credit Union National Association in the 1980s. Of all of Joe's great accomplishments, the one he is most proud of is his wonderful family.

Lorren Kleinkauf has been with WCTD and then WBLQ since November 1996. He began as an intern from Westerly High School. Lorren now serves as WBLQ's Office Manager.

Joe Tasca host of the "Time Machine" on Saturdays, 11AM - 2PM. Joe started out in radio at a young age and has worked for many stations over the years.

Rockin' Ron Carson returns to the airwaves as he is now part of the WBLQ Time Machine. Join Ron on selected Saturdays from 2 to 5pm as he will make memories with great, timeless music from the 50's 60's and 70's that we all grew up with.

Sports Open Mic:Listen Saturday mornings 9 -11 AM for radio veteran Ken Collins along with his son Gary, Jerry Longaluco, and the award winning Bill "Slammer" Sammagio. Join the boys for this hometown Westerly tradition every Saturday.

Lou Masucci and Sal Murano both are former Westerly High School star athletes and have been part of the sports fabric of Westerly for many years. Lou and Sal are both diehard Yankees baseball and NY Giants football fans, but don't hold that against them. With Lou & Sal it's all New York all the time, aggravating and tweaking their many Boston fan listeners ... and they have the attitudes to go with it. Johnny Nardo was born and raised in Cranston, Johnny Nardo graduated from Roger Williams University with a BS in criminal justice and has been in radio for 15 years. Has has worked at many stations including former WICE, also WRIU, WELH, WAKX, WJZS and WADK.

Nardo has interviewed many guests on his show such as, Keely Smith, Steve Lawrence, Patti Page, Jerry Vale, Jimmy Roselli, Connie Francis,Julius LaRosa, Doc Severinsen, Buddy Greeco, Rich Little, Al Marino and Steve Shiripa of the Sopranos.

Nardo hosts That's Amore Sundays from 9-11am

when he isn't on the radio, Nardo splits his time between his full time profession of 27 years as a law enforcement officer, spending quality time with his wife Linda and sons Angelo and Vito or researching and reading about the golden age of entertainment and hollywood, excercising and cooking.

Pet Tips with Heidi are heard on WBLQ every Weekday morning just after 8 AM. Heidi offers pet tips and information to keep your pets happy and healthy. Anyone with questions about spaying, neutering or need general information may call (401) 596-2090.

Brian "The Hammer" Sullivan is a TV and Radio enthusiast who has listened to his favorite personalities and has developed his own Radio style over the years with WBLQ. He serves as WBLQ's music director.

Brian has been affiliated with the station since 1999.

Rick Edwards, radio veteran, was program director of WBLQ in the 90s. He later was program director of WSAR, Fall River. Rick is now the AM Stereo 1230 WBLQ staff weatherman.

Born and raised in the Great City of Liverpool UK, Grew up during the Merseyside Music Explosion of the 60'S and is very passionate about Rock N Roll music. Used to attend many gigs at the Famous Cavern Club in Mathew Street Liverpool and met the Beatles quite a few times, who were always broke as we used to give them cigarettes Started Broadcasting as a Soccer play by play presenter for WSRO and WMCTV out of Marlboro MA and had a Sunday Morning show called "it's Sunday" which ran for many years. Worked for TV 38 in Boston and WMRC 1490 Big Soccer fan and love my team LIVERPOOL....Very proud to be a member of the "The Time Machine".

JJ MacDade In House Consultant, When it comes to musical or radio history, JJ is our man. He always sails our radio "ship" in the right direction when it comes to our music or local talk programming.
